The Massida company is established in Djibouti since 1964, and its activity is closely linked to the economic evolution of the country. Due to its geographical situation, the Republic of Djibouti is located at the crossroads of continents and benefits from a strong political stability. Thanks to these two major assets, the Republic of Djibouti has become a key player in the East of Africa.

The country has benefited from many investments, including those from the DP World company (one of the global leader in port management), which began to manage the port of Djibouti in 2000. Ever since, the port is in constant development and has become a key location for all the North/South and East/West exchanges. Situated at the entrance of the Red Sea, it is an important crossing point for more than 50% of the international maritime traffic.

The port of Djibouti is the most developed and the most structured port on the Eastern coast of Africa. It is ideally located to serve the 19 countries belonging to the COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa), from which Djibouti also depends. The COMESA represents a market of 408 million of inhabitants.

It is also the unique maritime gateway for Ethiopia, a large country with more than 85 million inhabitants. Its capital, Addis –Ababa, is only a one-day truck drive away from the port of Djibouti, and the flow of trucks is constant between the two capitals. Djibouti is also a commercial exchange hub for Somaliland and for the Republic of South Sudan (Juba).
